I never thought I would be able to see you.
To endure long enough to witness your raw authentic essence.

In the midst of a near-death scare,
I lost the stuff that made me rare.
Looked in the mirror, but couldn't find,
My memories and passions all left behind.

Inside, there's a void, an empty space,
Where my dreams once thrived, in vibrant grace.
While I wander aimlessly, on autopilot,
The two versions of me start an internal riot.

There's Matthias, the phantom, claiming control,
And the other stranger, takin' a toll.
Who am I now? 
While lost in this strife.
A mere reflection, of my former life.

In twilight's embrace, I stand on the edge,
Gazing at the stars, their whispers left unsaid.
Life's trials have me battered, leaving me incomplete,
But in this vast universe, our destinies shall meet.

With half a heart, fragile and worn,
Longing for a love yet to be born.
Through the darkness, I yearn for your guiding light,
To intertwine our souls, to make everything right.

The stars above paint our burning desire,
Two faces entwined, a celestial fire.
Though our paths haven't crossed, your presence feels near,
Our love, a masterpiece, both tender and sincere.

But how can you miss someone you've never met?
Cause I need you now, but I don't know you yet.
In this moment, our souls elude,
But I know, my love, we'll eventually conclude.

Until that day, I'll stand on this cliff's edge,
Dreaming of the love that awaits, our souls to pledge.

In all my reckless wanderings,  
I thought I could outrun my fate,  
But destiny is a force unyielding,  
And all my struggles were in vain.  

My stubbornness was my downfall,  
Thinking I could defy my fate,  
But destiny, it comes to call,  
And soon was knocking at my gate. 

When your world is burning, and it's all your fault, And you're left with nothing but ashes and salt, Take a moment to smile and reflect on the past,

Even in the darkest of moments, joy can be found,
In the smallest of things, it can always be around;

Once a fallen soul, I languished
My wings lay in tatters on the ground
No knowledge of flight, no wish to be nourished
No beauty, no worth to be found

But then a voice, a calling
A whisper that urged me to rise
To mend my wings, to stop falling
To soar beyond the skies

I embarked on a quest, a journey
To learn the art of flight
To conquer worlds, to seek destiny
To reach for celestial heights

Life lately has been a tempest
A tumultuous and stormy ride
But my wings have learned to crest
The gales that once made me hide

Life Lately

In the depths of the forest, where the world is still and deep,
Lies a sea of great wonder, that mystique the bat did keep.
The waters were said to hold life eternal,
And the bat, with heart aflutter, could not help but feel infernal.

But danger awaited those who dared to swim,
A demon shark with teeth so sharp, it seemed so grim.
Yet, the bat was not discouraged, as it perched on high,
Watching the waves roll and crest, beneath the thunderous sky.

Though the bat could not swim, it had wings to soar,
And it took flight, in search of hope and something more.
With every flutter, the bat soared higher,
And the demon shark's anger could not quench the bat's fire.

In time, the bat learned to rise above the tide,
And though the demon shark still lingered, it no longer could abide.
For the bat had found a way to reach its goal,
And in doing so, it found new depths within its soul.

Bats Dont Swim

From within, I feel the flames ignite,
Born with many wicks, burning so bright,
But some have died, leaving me alone,
Left with one, the brightest, it has shown.

Yet now I feel my strength deplete,
The wax is melting, it's bittersweet,
Do I let it burn, even if I expire?
Or extinguish it and rekindle the fire?

The answer eludes me, as I ponder and pause,
Perhaps the light will guide me, to a new cause,
For though the flames may flicker, and sometimes die,
The wicks remain, waiting to fly.

I dreamt of this same man for three days straight. Him floating in an ocean filled with rose petals is the most calming thing my mind has ever shown me. I do not understand a thing about this vision; all I know is I could see how tired he was and that he was completely calm about it.

I quit art; actually I would have quit making art if not for the Old Man. The Old Man talked me through a very tough time in my life. I was in a deep pit and a dark solemn voice brought me out of the confusion that was my head. This artwork is an appreciation of the old man that helped me. Thank you Anthony Azekwoh. 

The Old Man

Nothing inspired this. I simply created what felt natural.

I would describe myself as a very observant person. There’s nothing I hate more about myself. I hate that I notice most things, because the noticing triggers the thinking. To spend most of your time trying to unravel situations that have nothing to do with you can become dreadful. No wonder I never get anything done.

I was supposedly cursed by you from birth. You chose to punish me for the sins of your son. What would that have done? It’s always confused me. I mean with over a million sperm cells you possibly couldn’t have lived long enough to curse us all. I’m sorry you failed grandma; but it’s been peaceful since you left.

End of the Wicked

To reach egolessness and attain nirvana one would need to free the soul from desire and the causes of suffering, achieving omniscience, and living with the basic truths of existence. Then and only then can you stand a chance to feel, if only for a brief (but seemingly infinite) moment, what it is to only be.

Ego Death

I have only ever been in love with one woman. Ever. There’s only one person I want to spend the rest of my life with. One. Why would I love someone that’s so terrible for me? Why would I risk hurting myself and my loved one’s for the temporary pleasure her presence brings me? An answer only I and Eve have.

In a world where we don’t look like our problem’s, our thoughts, or our actions; I find peace in knowing that I see myself as I truly am. A flawed mind who’s cheated death a couple times. With a mind as challenged as mine it makes sense that I am my own biggest weakness. My insecurities are me.
